THE LAVA RUN
For the seventh time, an off-road race will be held in Mývatnsveit, from Dimmuborgur to Jarðbåðunur at Mývatn on May 30, 2025.
The run is 9.4 km long through the unique nature of Dimmuborg, the lava, the quicksand and then ends at the Earth Baths by Mývatn.
Participation fee: ISK 9,900
Participation includes chip timing, access to the Earth Baths at Mývatn and light refreshments at the end of the race.
NOTE Transportation from Jarðbáðun to Dimmuborg is NOT included. You will be able to buy a bus ticket from Jarðbáðunur to Dimmuborg, the bus departs at 4:45 p.m. The bus ticket costs ISK 2000. and it can only be purchased at the same time as tickets for the race are purchased.

16:00 - Attendance at Kaffi Borgir. Registration opens.
18:00 - Race starts. Starts at the entrance to Dimmuborgir (at the parking lot).
